หลักการทำงานของ

แผงควบคุมสัญญาณแจ้งเหตุเพลิงไหม้ (Fire Alarm Control Panel) จะรับสัญญาณจากอุปกรณ์นำเข้า (Input Devices) ที่เชื่อมต่ออยู่ เมื่อเครื่องตรวจจับ (Detectors) ตรวจพบสภาวะเพลิงไหม้ หรือเมื่อมีการกดอุปกรณ์แจ้งเหตุด้วยมือ (Call Point)
จากนั้นแผงควบคุมจะสั่งงานอุปกรณ์แจ้งเตือนที่เหมาะสม และหากมีการเชื่อมต่อเข้ากับระบบสัญญาณแจ้งเหตุเพลิงไหม้ขนาดใหญ่ก็จะส่งสัญญาณแจ้งเหตุไปยังทั้งระบบโดยรวมด้วย
